We recently attended a capital markets day (“CMD”) alongside meetings with select industrial companies in London. A clear trend across industries was short-term softness of demand as the impact of prolonged higher interest rates and a fraught geopolitical environment manifested in clients’ decision-making. Nevertheless, we left the CMD and our meetings with reassurance about the long-term trajectories of the businesses, and an expected positive inflection in nearer-term purchasing and rental decisions.
