Jürg Schäppi is the Chairman and a founding Partner of 2Xideas. He is also a founding partner and principal shareholder of Bellevue Group. He managed Bank am Bellevue, the brokerage and corporate finance division of Bellevue Group, as CEO from 2000 to 2010. Previously, Jürg was employed as an investment banker by S.G. Warburg (now UBS) in Geneva as well as Julius Baer and Citicorp (now Citigroup) in Zurich. Since 1998 he has been active as an investor and independent director on the boards of several hedge funds.
Jürg holds a Master's degree in Economics (lic. oec.) from the University of St. Gallen and a BA in Economics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Dr. Roger Meister is the CEO and a founding Partner of 2Xideas. From 2008 to 2012, he served as CFO of a next-generation battery company, managing several legal entities in Europe and the US. Roger started his career at Bank am Bellevue as a sell-side equity analyst focusing on listed technology stocks. Concurrently, Roger built up an in-house venture capital fund for Bellevue Group and served on the boards of several portfolio companies.
Roger holds a PhD in Behavioral Finance and a Master’s degree in Information and Technology Management from the University of St. Gallen. He is also a CFA® charterholder.
Michael Stutz joined 2Xideas as Chief Investment Officer and Partner in September 2014. He worked as portfolio manager and eventually as head of portfolio management at a Switzerland-based multi-family office from 2008 to 2014, managing public and private investments, while also serving on the board of a private portfolio company. Michael started his career in private wealth management as a portfolio manager in 2005. He has been involved in the setup and management of a number of investment fund structures.
Michael holds a BA in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen. He is also a CFA® and CAIA® charterholder.
Stephan Welti joined 2Xideas as Chief Operating Officer and Partner in September 2020. Previously, he was on the management team of Sygnum Bank, where he led the regulatory process to obtain the first-ever banking licence for a digital asset bank. From 2015 to 2018, he ran the Regulatory, Compliance & Legal FSI division of Deloitte Switzerland, including FINMA mandates. He also founded and led a management consulting firm during that time. From 2009 to 2015, he served on the Executive Committee of a leading Swiss private bank as Chief Risk Officer & General Counsel. Stephan started his career at an international business law firm.
Stephan holds a Master's in Law from the University of St. Gallen and a LL.M. in International Business Law (CAS) from the University of Zurich. He has participated in a number of expert groups, and has lectured on private and business law at the University of St. Gallen.
Philipp Wesner joined 2Xideas as Chief Technology Officer in August 2020 and was made a Partner in the firm in 2022. He founded a software company in 2000 and from 2012 to 2016 worked as Managing Director at the Frankfurt-based “form Design Magazine”. From 2016 to 2020, Philipp worked at Swiss cloud provider Young Solutions AG, initially as Head of Software Development before being appointed CTO in 2018.
Philipp holds a Diplom in Business Mathematics (Dipl. Math Oec.) from KU Eichstätt-Ingolstadt.
Henrik Munk-Nielsen is Deputy CIO, Head of Health Care Research, and a founding Partner of 2Xideas. Previously, he worked as Deputy Head of European Equities at British Airways Pensions from 1999 to 2012, managing direct investments in public equities across Europe. Henrik started his career at Prudential Insurance Company of America in London in 1994, helping manage a European small and mid cap fund until 1999.
Henrik holds a BA (Hons) in Business Studies jointly from Midtjysk Handelshøjskole in Denmark and Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland. He is also a CFA® charterholder.
Raffaella Semedo joined 2Xideas as Sales Director in September 2017, was appointed Head of Sustainability in February 2021, and was made a Partner in the firm in 2022. Previously, Raffaella worked as marketing and investor relations director of an investment company specializing in the alternative energy sector. From 2009 to 2013 she worked in the marketing and sales department at Swiss Finance & Property Group, one of Switzerland’s biggest independent real estate managers. Raffaella started her career in publishing/public relations.
Raffaella is a Certified ESG Analyst (CESGA®) and holds an Associate degree from the Ecôle Hôtelière de Lausanne.
Stephanie Scherrer joined 2Xideas as Head of Behavioral Analytics in October 2022. Previously, she worked as Risk Profiler and later Chief Personnel Security Investigation for the Swiss Department of Defense, conducting risk analysis on people recruited to serve and serving in the Swiss army. From 2020 on, she was a member of the Executive Committee of the Special Service. Stephanie started her career with Globalance Bank AG as CRM manager.
Stephanie holds a Master of Science in Psychology from the University of Zurich and an Executive Master’s in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen.
Andreas Apitz joined 2Xideas as Sales Director in April 2021, and was made a Partner in the firm in 2022. Over the last 15 years Andreas has been the co-founder and partner of ISPartners Investment Solutions, a Zurich based firm, that specializes in incubating, shaping and structuring both new and emerging fund managers as well as providing investors with access to high-quality investment opportunities. In his role as Head of Sales at 2Xideas, Andreas has built a broad network of private and institutional investors throughout German-speaking Europe. Previously, Andreas worked with Lehman Brothers in London in various equity trading and prime brokerage functions, eventually being appointed director and head of Delta One trading.
Andreas has a background in economics with a specialization in equity and derivative trading. He holds a Master’s degree from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.
John Kelly joined 2Xideas as Sales Director and Partner in September 2014. Previously, he worked at Bank am Bellevue from 2004 to 2014, managing the relationships to institutional clients based in Anglo-Saxon markets. He became the Head of Equity Sales in 2011. From 1997 to 2004, John worked as an equity analyst covering financial stocks for Merrill Lynch in London and NCB Stockbrokers in Dublin. John started his career with Deloitte in Ireland, where he worked as a chartered accountant for four years.
John is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (FCA) in Ireland.
Peter von Moos joined 2Xideas as a Sales Director in September 2018. Previously, he spent eight years at Credit Suisse's International Trading Solutions desk in Zurich, advising clients on tactical equity positioning with a focus on US equities. He serviced large wealth management accounts ranging from ultra-high net worth individuals to family offices and asset managers. Peter started his career in 2006 as a buy-side equity analyst covering insurance stocks for Credit Suisse Private Bank.
He holds an MA in Accounting and Finance from the University of St. Gallen and is a CFA® charterholder.
Pedro Guerra joined 2Xideas as a Sales Director in June 2018. Previously, he was the CFO and a principal shareholder in ResearchPool, a digital platform to discover and purchase investment research. From 2001 to 2017 , Pedro worked at Banco BPI, managing virtual portfolios for institutional investors as well as relationships with institutional clients in France. He served as the country manager for over five years, hiring and managing a team of sell-side equity analysts and salespeople.
Pedro holds a Master's degree in Economics from Porto University and completed the Advanced Management Program at INSEAD. He is also a CFA® charterholder.
Emily Mansouri joined 2Xideas in October 2022 as a Sales Director with a focus on institutional clients. She was a Founding Partner of Hosking Partners in the UK, and while there was responsible for all aspects of client service and business development. Prior to Hosking Partners, Emily worked at Marathon Asset Management, after having started her career in asset management at Lazard.
Emily holds a BA in Modern Languages from the University of Hull.
Kenneth Pryce joined 2Xideas in New York as Sales Director in January 2020. He has over 20 years’ experience in fund sales, equity sales, and equity analysis. Prior to joining 2Xideas, Kenneth worked at Champlain Advisors raising institutional capital for US alternatives funds. Previously, he worked in equity sales managing relationships to US and UK institutional clients at investment banks Helvea, Bank am Bellevue, and Deutsche Bank. Kenneth started his career in London in 1998 as an equity analyst covering pan-European companies at Jefferies/Europe Co., Commerzbank, and Berenberg before joining Deutsche Bank in 2006 to work in equity sales.
Kenneth holds BA degrees in Business Administration from Middlesex University in London and Reutlingen University (ESB) in Germany.
Daniel Endres joined 2Xideas as Sales Director in June 2022, and has more than 12 years of experience in European fund sales. Before joining 2Xideas, he worked at RAM Active Investments and was responsible for fund sales in Germany and Benelux. Previously, Daniel was co-head of international sales for DNB Asset Management, where he led DNB's fund sales activities in Europe outside the Nordic countries. Daniel started his career at an independent finance and insurance broker as a senior financial consultant, and also gained experience in private banking with Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken in Luxembourg.
Daniel has a background in economics with a specialization in the finance and insurance sector. He has a degree from the Saarland University of Applied Sciences.
Peter Wick manages 2Xideas’ Asian operations and is a founding Partner of 2Xideas. In 2002, Peter established CDL Principal Investors AG, an investment firm serving owner-investors including ultra-high net worth individuals, families, foundations, and investment companies. Previously, Peter worked at BZ Bank, Schweizerischer Bankverein (now UBS) and Darier Hentsch & Cie (now Lombard Odier).
Peter holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Master’s degree in Law (licence en droit) from Geneva University. He practiced law in New York City and Geneva until 1986, and is admitted to the New York and Geneva state bars.
Christof Fischer joined 2Xideas as an Equity Analyst in April 2017, was appointed Head of Consumer Research, and became a Partner in the firm in 2022. From 2012 to 2017, Christof worked as a sell-side equity analyst in New York and Zurich for Longbow Research, Piper Jaffray, and Bank am Bellevue. During his time on the sell side, he covered US and Swiss listed companies in the consumer sector.
Christof holds a BA in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
Scott McConnell joined 2Xideas as an Equity Analyst in May 2021. Prior to that, he worked in equity research at UBS and D.A. Davidson covering US consumer discretionary and internet/consumer technology. He previously worked in manager research, covering domestic equities at Pacific Portfolio.
Scott holds a BS in Finance from Azusa Pacific University in California. He is also a CFA® charterholder.
Grégoire Serre joined 2Xideas as an Equity Analyst in July 2022. Prior to joining 2Xideas, Grégoire was an assistant vice president in the consumer private equity division of Partners Group. Previously, Grégoire was an equity research associate focused on EU consumer companies at Capital Group.
Grégoire holds an MSc in Finance from Grenoble Business School and is a CFA charterholder.
Mert Gülleroğlu joined 2Xideas as an Equity Analyst in March 2022 and was appointed Head of Technology Research. He previously worked as a senior analyst at Ownership Capital in Amsterdam, where he covered US and European public equities. During that time, he was responsible for many high-conviction investments across a broad range of industries but with a focus on information technology and data services.
Mert holds Master’s degrees in Corporate Finance and Banking from the University of Amsterdam, and in Nanoscience from Delft University of Technology.
Stephen joined 2Xideas as an Equity Analyst in July 2022. Prior to joining 2Xideas, Stephen worked in Equity Research at Susquehanna (SIG), covering Semiconductors. Previously, he also worked in the hardware group at Google as well as in equity trading at Deutsche Bank.
Stephen holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech and an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Manuel Graça joined 2Xideas as an Equity Analyst in April 2019. Prior to that, he developed his equity investing experience in the private markets as a Principal with Atena Equity Partners in Portugal. Manuel’s career has spanned a number of strategy and finance roles, having also worked with Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, Groupon Brazil, and Deloitte Corporate Finance.
Manuel holds an MBA with honors from Columbia Business School and a BSc in Business Administration from Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
Ruth Chen joined 2Xideas as an Equity Analyst in August 2021. Previously, Ruth was a management consultant at Qral Group and ZS Associates, both in San Francisco, focusing on health care companies. Ruth has worked in a variety of strategic and operational roles, and gained investing experience through her studies at Columbia Business School as a member of the Value Investing Program.
Ruth holds a BA in Biological Sciences from Northwestern University in Chicago and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
Claudia Collin joined 2Xideas as an Equity Analyst in July 2022. Previously, she worked for six years at a Geneva-based asset management firm, AtonRa Partners, as an equity analyst and manager focusing on the biopharmaceutical sector. Earlier in her career, Claudia had gained experience in private banking at Société Générale and BNP Paribas, as well as in M&A at Engie.
Claudia holds an MSc in Investment Banking from ESCP Europe (London and Paris) and an MSc in Financial Engineering specializing in financial markets from ESGF (Paris).
Rajvir Visen-Singh joined 2Xideas as an Equity Analyst in August 2019, and was appointed Head of Financials Research in July 2022. Since completing an internship in the summer of 2018 at 2Xideas and subsequent time as an Analyst, Rajvir has been responsible for a broad array of investments in the financials sector, ranging from financial technology and data services to insurance.
Rajvir holds an MA (Hons) in Management from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.
Fikret Avni joined 2Xideas as an Equity Analyst in September 2021. He worked as a Financial Institutions Credit Rating Associate Analyst at Moody’s Investors Service from 2016 through 2018. He then worked in the Investments Division of JP Morgan’s Emerging Markets Wealth Management business as an Associate from 2018 until 2021.
Fikret holds a BSc in Economics from The London School of Economics (LSE).
Sean C. Tillman joined 2Xideas as an Equity Analyst in July 2022. Previous positions have included work in credit analytics at S&P Global, and equity research at Bank of America; Keefe, Bruyette, and Woods (KBW); and Stifel Nicolaus covering financial services companies.
He received his BA with honors from Ursinus College and his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated as a Palmer Scholar. Sean is also a CFA® charterholder.
Ricco Friedrich joined 2Xideas as an Equity Analyst in March 2021 and was appointed Head of Industrials Research in 2022. Previously, he was a founding Partner, director, and portfolio manager at Denker Capital in South Africa. Prior to founding Denker Capital, Ricco successfully started and managed various equity strategies for Sanlam Investment Management for both retail and institutional clients.
Ricco holds a Bachelor’s (Hons) in Business Science (Finance) from the University of Cape Town. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and is a CFA® charterholder.
Andrei Kiselev joined 2Xideas as an Equity Analyst in July 2022. Prior to joining 2Xideas, Andrei was a portfolio manager at Aegon Asset Management in Edinburgh, Scotland, where he co-managed the Global Sustainable Equity fund, as well as being involved with a number of regional and global strategies. Andrei started his investment career with Baillie Gifford in Scotland. After completing the initial training period, he spent several years first as an analyst on global equity products, and subsequently as an investment manager on the US equity fund.
Andrei holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Edinburgh.
Makoto Naito joined 2Xideas as an Equity Analyst in July 2022. Before joining 2Xideas, Makoto worked at a US-based hedge fund as an investment analyst with a primary focus on SMID Japanese Tech and Consumer. He was also heavily involved in quantitative analysis of alternative data and system development. Prior to that, Makoto worked as an associate at S&P Global.
Makoto holds an MSc in Financial Mathematics from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and a BA in Environment and Information from Keio University.
Mathieu Fragnière joined 2Xideas as a Sustainability Specialist in November 2021. From 2016 to 2021, Mathieu worked as a project manager in a consulting company providing strategies on sustainable development and mitigation of CO2 emissions, helping companies and public authorities to reduce their carbon footprints. He also marketed new business services regarding climate change such as Risks & Opportunities Analysis, Environmental Economic Analysis, and Carbon Pricing.
Mathieu holds a Master’s in Socio-Ecological Economics and Policy from the Wirtschaftsuniversität (WU) of Vienna.
Vincent Lehmann joined 2Xideas as an ESG Analyst in March 2023. He previously worked at RepRisk, a leading ESG data science company. Before that he gained work experience at a Swiss real estate development firm supporting the acquisitions team. Back in 2020, Vincent completed a six-month internship as an equity analyst at 2Xideas.
Vincent holds an MSc in Sustainability Entrepreneurship & Innovation from ESCP Business School and a BSc in Business Administration, specializing in Finance, from Northeastern University. He also holds the CFA® Institute Certificate in ESG Investing.
Anastasios Tafakis joined 2Xideas as Head of Trading in August 2019. From 2014 to 2019, he managed a long/short equity strategy for a Switzerland-based family office. Anastasios started his financial career in the wealth management division of Merrill Lynch in London and later worked as an investment advisor at Valartis Bank before becoming a portfolio manager at a Switzerland-based multi-family office.
Anastasios holds an MSc in Economics from the University of Bath, UK,and a BA (Hons) in Business Economics & Finance from London Metropolitan University. He is also a CFA® charterholder.
Graziano Mirata joined 2Xideas as Head of Data Science in August 2021 and became Head of Quantitative Research in August 2022. From 2020 to 2021, Graziano worked as the Applied A.I./M.L. lead for the Global Research – EMEA team at J.P. Morgan CIB in London, having earlier served as Senior Quant Researcher and Equity Portfolio Manager at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, and as Quantitative Portfolio Manager at the Bank of Montreal GAM (former F&C Asset Management).
Graziano holds a Certificate in Quantitative Finance (CQF), a Master of Science in Finance from the University of Lugano, and worked as a Asset Pricing and Behavioral Finance researcher at the University of Lugano’s Institute of Finance.
Dr. Marvin Müller joined 2Xideas as a Quantitative Researcher in June 2020. Previously, he worked for a startup in Zurich on machine learning methods in Quantitative Finance. From 2016 to 2019, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Stochastic Finance Group at ETH Zurich, working on mathematical modeling of financial markets. He has been a speaker at various international academic and industrial conferences and authored a number of scientific journals in applied mathematics.
Marvin holds a PhD in Mathematics (summa cum laude) from Technische Universität (TU) Dresden and a MSc in Business Mathematics from TU Berlin.
Kaspar Thommen joined 2Xideas as a Quantitative Researcher in March 2022. Previously, he worked for UBS Investment Bank as a Quantitative Analyst in FX Spot market-making and as a Data Scientist in various application domains.
Kaspar holds a Master‘s degree in Mechanical Engineering from EPFL Lausanne, a Certificate in Quantitative Finance (CQF) and a Master of Advanced Studies in Software Engineering from HSR Rapperswil.
Balint Gersey joined 2Xideas as Data Scientist and Quantitative Researcher in March 2022. During his academic career he gained expertise in machine learning, statistics, data analysis, stochastic finance, and computational methods for quantitative finance.
Balint holds a Master's in Mathematical Statistics from the University of Cambridge and is currently also working to complete his PhD in Mathematical Finance at ETH Zurich.
Andreas Kanz joined 2Xideas as a Data Engineer in May 2022. Previously, Andreas worked as a Data Scientist, implementing data-driven solutions for companies in health care, energy, and the automotive industry. Earlier, he worked as a Consultant for Financial Artificial Intelligence for Banks in Austria and Germany.
Andreas holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Bamberg, Germany.
Matevz Nolimal joined 2Xideas as a Data Scientist in May 2021. Previously, Matevz worked in the Investment Office of Raiffeisen Schweiz, where he developed advisory and quantitative systems focused on portfolio construction and risk optimization. Prior to that, he worked at the Finance Directorate of the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg, in the team responsible for implementing new financial products.
Matevz holds a BSc in Financial Mathematics from the University of Ljubljana.
Will Hardy joined 2Xideas as a Software Engineer in August 2020. He previously spent 15 years building, scaling, and securing numerous large software systems as an independent consultant in Europe and Australia.
Will holds Bachelor’s degrees in Software Engineering (Hons) and Laws from the University of Melbourne.
Kristian Arve joined 2Xideas as a Data Scientist in April 2018. He earlier worked as a project manager at a consulting company during his studies, and also had prior experience as an independent quantitative futures trader.
Kristian holds a Bachelor’s in Economics from the University of Zurich.
Tarek Al-Selwi joined 2Xideas as a Data Engineer in February 2021. Previously, he worked as an IT Consultant for private banks in the UK, Luxembourg, and Germany, implementing banking systems and creating data pipelines, and for UBS on its Data Warehouse and Automation team in Switzerland.
Tarek holds a Master's degree in Economics and Financial Markets from the University of Wroclaw, Poland.
Vincent Mohiuddin joined 2Xideas as a Software Engineer in April 2022. He started his career developing investment data pipelines at Allianz Suisse for three years, after which he worked for two years as a software developer for an asset management company specialized in alternative assets.
Vincent holds a Master’s in Economics Engineering from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
Lucas Gertsch joined 2Xideas as a Data Engineer in September 2022. Before this, he started his career as a Python engineer at a global energy and technology company before joining Delivery Hero as a data engineer working on ETL pipelines that serve data used for global reporting.
Lucas studied Applied Computer Science at the Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin, from which he holds a Bachelor of Science.
Christoph Hombach joined 2xideas as a Software Engineer in January 2023. Christoph started his career as a business analyst at R+V Versicherungen in Wiesbaden in 2016 and became a data analyst for an asset management company specialized in alternative assets in 2018. Here he was responsible for the comprehensive reporting for one of the company’s largest clients. In 2021 he became the Head of Software Development, where his main project was to build a cohesive database for the whole company.
Christoph holds a Diplom in Physics from Johannes-Gutenberg Universität Mainz and a PhD in Experimental Particle Physics from the University of Manchester.
János Naumann joined 2Xideas as a Senior Software Developer in September 2021. For more than 10 years, he designed and developed control and monitoring solutions with a focus on extensibility. He worked for several industrial companies, ranging from startups to international corporations.
János holds a Diplom in Electrical Engineering (Dipl.-Ing.) from the University of Karlsruhe (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology KIT).
Max Brauer joined 2Xideas as a Software Engineer in June 2021. Previously, he worked in a startup creating immersive AI and AR applications to develop brand experiences for its customers. Before that, Max worked as a Software Developer in the film industry, building complex applications for a range of companies.
Max holds a BSc in Computer Science from the BA Leipzig University of Cooperative Education.
Tom Bärwinkel joined 2Xideas as a Software Engineer in January 2022. He previously worked on the user experience and notification systems in IT monitoring software and in the automotive industry.
Tom holds a Master's in Computational and Theoretical Chemistry from the Technical University of Munich.
Vladimir Potter joined 2Xideas as a Software Developer in April 2022. He previously spent more than 10 years designing and building mid-to-large software systems for companies throughout Europe, the US, and Australia.
Vladimir holds a Master’s in Informatics and Computer Engineering from Novosibirsk State University in Russia.
Paris Kolios joined 2Xideas as a Software Engineer in May 2022. He has 15 years of experience developing software, building and leading tech teams, in start-ups, NGOs, and consulting firms.
Paris studied Computer Science in the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the University of Athens.
Tim Kreitner joined 2Xideas as a Software Engineer in July 2022. Previously he worked at an algo-trading company as a Quantitative Analyst and Developer.
Tim holds a Master’s degree in Computational Engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University Darmstadt.
Dustin Nowosad joined 2Xideas as a Software Engineer in June 2021. Before that, he worked as a full stack developer in a startup that developed an AI platform as a web application, and then as a mobile app developer on a tenant app that simplifies communication between tenants and landlords.
Dustin holds a State Certified Technician Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Tarak Blah joined 2Xideas as a DevOps Engineer in March 2022. Tarak has accumulated 21 years of professional experience in IT, particularly in the field of Unix/Linux, and has profound knowledge of infrastructure and cloud architecture, configuration management, continuous integration, continuous deployment, testing, quality assurance, cloud management, and IT security.
Béla Csikós joined 2Xideas as Head of IT Infrastructure in January 2022. He amassed a decade of IT experience in Hungary, including freelancing as a rollout technician and web designer, and running his own IT service. In 2013, Béla received vocational training at Tech Data (now TD Synnex) in Munich, and worked as an IT Systems Administrator at software design firm Allplan GmbH.
At 2Xideas, Béla maintains a secure, efficient, and contemporary IT infrastructure, and strives to continuously strengthen the firm’s technological asset base.
Maciej Kiljan joined 2Xideas as a System Engineer in July 2022. Before starting his IT career in 2014, Maciej worked in customer service. From 2020 to 2022, he worked for Tally Weijl in Basel as a workspace specialist, extending his IT knowledge and getting to know Swiss culture.
Elmar Meyer is the founder and CEO of Lexpert Partners AG, which acts as 2Xideas’ outsourced Risk & Compliance Office. Elmar's specialties include advising Swiss and foreign banks, asset managers, and family offices in all legal and regulatory areas. Prior to founding Lexpert Partners, Elmar was a founding partner of GHM Partners, a legal and tax advisory firm in Zug. Previously, he headed the legal and compliance department of Bank Julius Baer in Dubai, and served on the board of Julius Baer in Cairo. Elmar is also a board member of a number of major asset management companies in Switzerland.
Elmar is a Swiss attorney and holds a Master’s in Law from the University of Fribourg, and an LL.M. from the University of Stockholm.
Marco Maranta joined 2Xideas as Head of Accounting and Controlling in October 2022. Marco worked previously in a family-owned multinational industrial company as CFO. The company was producing material flow systems in production for the automotive industry and their Tier 1 and 2 Suppliers. Before that he worked as an advisor for the implementation of an ERP solution, where he was responsible for the processes regarding accounting and finance, and as an auditor at Deloitte & Touche where he was involved in audits in various industries and service providers.
Marco holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Zurich.
Ayup Said joined 2Xideas as Financial Controller in November 2020. From 2014 to 2020, he held various positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers AG, having started his career as an auditor in the financial services sector. Ayup held joint responsibility for the monthly and yearly closing of PwC Switzerland’s groupwide accounting, and led and implemented the internal project controlling. He was also and was responsible for internal controls at PwC Switzerland.
Ayup holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a specialization in Banking and Finance from Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Winterthur.
Adrian Kunz joined 2Xideas as an RFP Manager in June 2021, and was appointed Head of Fund Operations in September 2022. Previously, he worked on Man Group’s Sales Management team as Head of Market Intelligence. Adrian started his career as a fund analyst at a Zurich-based wealth manager.
Adrian holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Zurich.
Nicolai Weinberger joined 2Xideas as a Fund Operations Manager in May 2022. Prior to that, he worked at Mercer Alternatives AG as a Fund Operations Analyst, at Swiss Finance and Property AG as a Fund Administrator, and at UBS AG as a Securities Specialist.
Nicolai holds Diplomas as a Certified International Investment Analyst and as a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst.
Elina Stutz joined 2Xideas as a Fund Operations Manager in November 2019. Previously, she worked on the client reporting team at Vontobel Asset Management, and in operations at Sp-Fund Management Company.
Elina holds a Master’s in Business Administration specialized in Future Studies and Customer-Oriented Services from Laurea University of Applied Sciences in Finland.
Joachim Riedlechner joined as the Head of 2Xideas Europa AG in Vaduz, Liechtenstein in July 2022. Prior to that, he was managing director of a FMA licensed multi-family office in Liechtenstein. Previous experience includes a broad range of roles throughout investment management, including trading, portfolio management, and middle office with various banks and asset managers in Liechtenstein.
Joachim holds a BA in Business Administration and a diploma as a Certified International Investment Analyst CIIA®.
Andrew DeBoo joined 2Xideas in October 2019. He had earlier worked as a sustainability analyst in private banking with Bank Sarasin, as an editor/supervisory analyst at UBS Wealth Management, and as an investment writer with Vontobel Asset Management.
Andrew was a graduate fellow in Philosophy at Emory University in the US, and completed a degree in Chemical Engineering at the Fachhochschule Aachen in Germany.
Craig Wesley Jones joined 2Xideas in December 2021. He has been editing equity research since 1989, first covering Asian-Pacific companies from Tokyo (Prudential-Bache, Nomura) and later pan-European and emerging markets stocks from London (Credit Lyonnais, Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase).
Craig holds a BA in Literature and History in Art from the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada.
Filip Vukovic joined 2Xideas as Graphic Designer/Premedia Specialist in August 2019. Previously, he worked as pre-press technology and marketing specialist and cross-media project manager at UBS from 2014 to 2019. Before UBS, he worked at Limmatdruck as premedia specialist with the main focus on automated catalog production and innovations.
Filip has over 14 years of experience in the graphic and print services industry. After his apprenticeship as a premedia specialist (Polygraf EFZ), Filip graduated as Pre-Press Technology Specialist with a Federal Diploma of Higher Education.
Benjamin Maletic joined 2Xideas as a Graphic Designer in March 2021. From 2008, he was responsible for several projects and redesigns at Ringier AG, and from 2010 to 2018 was deputy art director at Blick newspaper before taking a graphic design position at Schweizer LandLiebe magazine. Before relocating to Switzerland, he worked as people specialist at the Bild am Sonntag newspaper.
Benjamin studied design in Cologne and Hamburg, graduating as a Diplom-Designer. For two decades, he has also been running his own design office.
Marco Frei has been 2Xideas’ Vice-Chairman since March 2016. He is also an independent pension fund advisor and trustee. From 2005 to 2011, Marco was head of group pension asset management at Roche Group in Basel. He joined Roche in 1987 in the treasury department, where he worked as an asset and financial risk manager before being appointed head of group risk management. Marco started his career at Swiss Bank Corporation (now UBS) as a portfolio manager and advisor to private and institutional clients.
Marco holds a Swiss banking diploma from the Handelsschule KV in Basel, and attended regular management seminars at Roche Group. In 2011, he spent three months at the London School of Economics to study the Great Depression of 1929–37.
David Loggia has been a Board member at 2Xideas since March 2016. He also serves on the board of CLC Asia and manages his private investment company, Loto Holdings. As a fund manager at Carmignac Gestion from 2003 to 2010, David was in charge of European equities. He became a partner in 2005 and served on its board of directors from 2011 to 2014. David started his career in 1999 as an equity analyst at Bankers Trust Funds Management in Sydney, Australia.
David holds a Bachelor’s in Economics (Hons) from Monash University in Melbourne. He completed the CFA program in 2004.
Marianne Fassbind has served on the 2Xideas Board since December 2021. She is also Partner of Dynamics Group, a strategic communication firm. Marianne’s areas of expertise are strategic communications for companies and pension plans, reputation and crisis management, investor relationships, handling electronic and print media, and public affairs especially for pension funds and capital markets. She has reported and commented on the Swiss economy and foreign business affairs for over 25 years. As a member of investment committees and as a board member of pension funds, the pensions market also belongs to her core competencies. Thanks to her former position as finance director of the city of Rapperswil, Switzerland, she is also familiar with the nature of Swiss politics and government.
Marianne Fassbind holds a Master’s in Business Administration and Economics from the University of Zurich (lic. oec.publ.).
Martin Bisang is a founding shareholder in 2Xideas. Previously, he founded Bellevue Group with five partners. He was instrumental in setting up and launching the investment company BB Biotech, which was listed on the Swiss stock exchange in 1993. He ran Bellevue Group as CEO until 2012. Martin started his career at BZ Group as a pharmaceuticals analyst.
Martin holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Master's in Economics from the University of Basel.
