Jürg Schäppi is the Chairman and a founding Partner of 2Xideas. He is also a founding partner and principal shareholder of Bellevue Group. He managed Bank am Bellevue, the brokerage and corporate finance division of Bellevue Group, as CEO from 2000 to 2010. Previously, Jürg was employed as an investment banker by S.G. Warburg (now UBS) in Geneva as well as Julius Baer and Citicorp (now Citigroup) in Zurich. Since 1998 he has been active as an investor and independent director on the boards of several hedge funds.
Jürg holds a Master's degree in Economics (lic. oec.) from the University of St. Gallen and a BA in Economics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Dr. Roger Meister is the CEO and a founding Partner of 2Xideas. From 2008 to 2012, he served as CFO of a next-generation battery company, managing several legal entities in Europe and the US. Roger started his career at Bank am Bellevue as a sell-side equity analyst focusing on listed technology stocks. Concurrently, Roger built up an in-house venture capital fund for Bellevue Group and served on the boards of several portfolio companies.
Roger holds a PhD in Behavioral Finance (summa cum laude) and a Master’s degree in Information and Technology Management from the University of St. Gallen. He is also a CFA® charterholder.
Michael Stutz joined 2Xideas as Chief Investment Officer and Partner in September 2014. He worked as portfolio manager and eventually as head of portfolio management at a Switzerland-based multi-family office from 2008 to 2014, managing public and private investments, while also serving on the board of a private portfolio company. Michael started his career in private wealth management as a portfolio manager in 2005. He has been involved in the setup and management of a number of investment fund structures.
Michael holds a BA in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen. He is also a CFA® and CAIA® charterholder.
Stephan Welti joined 2Xideas as Chief Operating Officer and Partner in September 2020. Previously, he was on the management team of Sygnum Bank, where he led the regulatory process to obtain the first-ever banking licence for a digital asset bank. From 2015 to 2018, he ran the Regulatory, Compliance & Legal FSI division of Deloitte Switzerland, including FINMA mandates. He also founded and led a management consulting firm during that time. From 2009 to 2015, he served on the Executive Committee of a leading Swiss private bank as Chief Risk Officer & General Counsel. Stephan started his career at an international business law firm.
Stephan holds a Master's in Law from the University of St. Gallen and a LL.M. in International Business Law (CAS) from the University of Zurich. He has participated in a number of expert groups, and has lectured on private and business law at the University of St. Gallen.
Philipp Wesner joined 2Xideas as Chief Technology Officer in August 2020 and was made a Partner in the firm in 2022. He founded a software company in 2000 and from 2012 to 2016 worked as Managing Director at the Frankfurt-based “form Design Magazine”. From 2016 to 2020, Philipp worked at Swiss cloud provider Young Solutions AG, initially as Head of Software Development before being appointed CTO in 2018.
Philipp holds a Diplom in Business Mathematics (Dipl. Math Oec.) from KU Eichstätt-Ingolstadt.
Dr. Anselm Ivanovas joined 2Xideas as Chief Technology Officer and Chief Risk Officer in March 2017. He became a Partner of the firm in March 2019 and passed over the CTO role to Philipp Wesner in February 2021. Previously, Anselm worked in the investment office of Raiffeisen Schweiz and Kraus Partner Investment Solutions, a Zurich-based specialist in quantitative financial market research and global tactical asset allocation. During his studies, Anselm worked part-time for a Switzerland-based multi-family office.
Anselm holds a PhD in Economics and Finance, an MA in Banking and Finance, and a BA in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen.
Henrik Munk-Nielsen is Deputy CIO and a founding Partner of 2Xideas. Previously, he worked as Deputy Head of European equities at British Airways Pensions from 1999 to 2012, managing direct investments in public equities across Europe and Russia. Henrik started his career at Prudential Insurance Company of America in London in 1994, helping manage a European small and mid cap fund until 1999.
Henrik holds a BA (Hons) in Business Studies jointly from Midtjysk Handelshøjskole in Denmark and Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland. He is also a CFA® charterholder.
Raffaella Semedo joined 2Xideas as Sales Director in September 2017, was appointed Head of Sustainability in February 2021, and was made a Partner in the firm in 2022. Previously, Raffaella worked as marketing and investor relations director of an investment company specializing in the alternative energy sector. From 2009 to 2013 she worked in the marketing and sales department at Swiss Finance & Property Group, one of Switzerland’s biggest independent real estate managers. Raffaella started her career in publishing/public relations.
Raffaella is a Certified ESG Analyst (CESGA®) and holds an Associate degree from the Ecôle Hôtelière de Lausanne.
Andreas Apitz joined 2Xideas as Sales Director in April 2021, and was made a Partner in the firm in 2022. Over the last 15 years Andreas has been the co-founder and partner of ISPartners Investment Solutions, a Zurich based firm, that specializes in incubating, shaping and structuring both new and emerging fund managers as well as providing investors with access to high-quality investment opportunities. In his role as Head of Sales at 2Xideas, Andreas has built a broad network of private and institutional investors throughout German-speaking Europe. Previously, Andreas worked with Lehman Brothers in London in various equity trading and prime brokerage functions, eventually being appointed director and head of Delta One trading.
Andreas has a background in economics with a specialization in equity and derivative trading. He holds a Master’s degree from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.
John Kelly joined 2Xideas as Sales Director and Partner in September 2014. Previously, he worked at Bank am Bellevue from 2004 to 2014, managing the relationships to institutional clients based in Anglo-Saxon markets. He became the Head of Equity Sales in 2011. From 1997 to 2004, John worked as an equity analyst covering financial stocks for Merrill Lynch in London and NCB Stockbrokers in Dublin. John started his career with Deloitte in Ireland, where he worked as a chartered accountant for four years.
John is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (FCA) in Ireland.
Peter Wick manages 2Xideas’ Asian operations and is a founding Partner of 2Xideas. In 2002, Peter established CDL Principal Investors AG, an investment firm serving owner-investors including ultra-high net worth individuals, families, foundations, and investment companies. Previously, Peter worked at BZ Bank, Schweizerischer Bankverein (now UBS) and Darier Hentsch & Cie (now Lombard Odier).
Peter holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Master’s degree in Law (licence en droit) from Geneva University. He practiced law in New York City and Geneva until 1986, and is admitted to the New York and Geneva state bars.
Christof Fischer joined 2Xideas as an Equity Analyst in April 2017, was appointed Head of Consumer Research, and became a Partner in the firm in 2022. From 2012 to 2017, Christof worked as a sell-side equity analyst in New York and Zurich for Longbow Research, Piper Jaffray, and Bank am Bellevue. During his time on the sell side, he covered US and Swiss listed companies in the consumer sector.
Christof holds a BA in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
Martin Bisang is a founding shareholder in 2Xideas. Previously, he founded Bellevue Group with five partners. He was instrumental in setting up and launching the investment company BB Biotech, which was listed on the Swiss stock exchange in 1993. He ran Bellevue Group as CEO until 2012. Martin started his career at BZ Group as a pharmaceuticals analyst.
Martin holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Master's in Economics from the University of Basel.
